ABOUT ME

MY STORY

Esmee Metz is a vocalist from Friesland, The Netherlands. She is a passionate performer and musician wanting to create something with lasting effect on the (Dutch) music scene.

Coming from a musical family, it was clear at a young age that she wanted to pursue something in the creative direction. Originally finding a love in writing short stories and poems, she eventually began writing songs as well.

She has been studying at the Prins Claus Conservatory since 2024 and has been involved in multiple creative projects such as the diverse ensembles during her studies and the ongoing Muzt Musical Opleiding (2023-) in which she performs a musical theater repertoire. She also forms a singer and guitar duo with her father, Sander Metz, a singer and piano duo with Daan Schrik and a band in quartet or quintet form (piano, bass, drums).

Esmee Metz is currently working on her Dutch jazz repertoire, translating popular standards such as Weggewaaid Met de Wind/Gone With the Wind and Agua de Beber. Her love for both Dutch and jazz music translates into beautiful and carefully constructed lyrics.
